Music Monday: Old Favorites and Fran Healy's melodic voice

Happy Monday, everyone! Unfortunately, I am sick on this sunny (albeit cold!) day, but that won't stop me from listening to some feel-good music to drown out my coughs.



An old song yes, but quite frankly, Enrique never gets old.




I love, love, love this song. It's probably one of my favorite songs ever, though that might be because I have a nostalgic, emotional tie to this song. It's a hidden song in their most recent album, and it's just such a sweet little surprise at the end of the album. You just can't help but smile after hearing it.

Seeing the world through new lenses

To my dismay, my eyesight has worsened since the last time I've visited the optometrist. My left eye is getting progressively worse and my chance to get my driver's permit will be prolonged for just a couple of weeks longer.

On the bright side, I am getting new glasses for a brand new prescription. As much as I love my old glasses, I think that a new chapter in my life calls for a new pair of glasses. After all, they can figuratively allow me to see life in a different light!

I finally decided on cute specs very similar to these. I suppose that I'm no different than an older lady in that I'm a sucker for bejeweled things.

Since I will be needing my glasses while I drive, I figured that I'd get prescription sunglasses, so I could shade my eyes on those ultrabright days. Of course, I decided on a classic pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. I've always wanted a real pair, so needing a prescription pair of sunglasses was just the convenient occasion!

I should be getting both pairs within a couple of weeks. Hopefully sooner, since I want to be hitting the road ASAP!
